Cecil’s Jazz Club, the intimate, orange-walled West Orange nightspot that showcased swinging locals and national touring acts, will go silent at the end of February. A centerpiece of the New Jersey jazz scene since July 4, 2003, Cecil’s will present its final weekend of music Feb. 24 to 26.
What a bummer, one of my favorite places. Cecil is a great guy, Fridays are great when he is up there himself jammin the night away. I remember the Latin jazz nights too. Every time I go, I always bring him a cigar, the man loves his Stogies.
